- Cataclysm Zone Change Spoiler Information Follows -
WE KNOW THAT multiple zones will be destroyed, remade, or otherwise rendered differently once Cataclysm drops on our delicate little noggins. So far as we know, those zones are:
- Darkshore
- Azshara
- Darkwhisper Gorge
- The Barrens (South)
- Stonetalon Mountains
- Thousand Needles
- Stranglethorn Vale
- Blasted Lands
- Felwood
- Ashenvale
- Durotar
- The Barrens (North)
- Desolace
- Feralas
- Eastern Plaguelands
- Wetlands
- Westfall
- Swamp of Sorrows
We’ll miss these areas when they’re gone, and sit around the Inn in Ironforge talking about how newbs these days don’t appreciate the lushness of Thousand Needles and wouldn’t know Auberdine if it fell on their heads.
With that in mind, I’d like to issue an open challenge out there for all bloggers to visit a randomly assigned area and run with it… with a catch. Your character’s mission, should you chose to accept it, will be complicated by a randomly assigned obstacle, tribulation, and/or dilemma facing you in your exploration.
The List of Adversities is is already created, but I’m keeping it under wraps so that everyone’s approach to their tribulation can be a surprise.
THE CHALLENGE: Visit, on your main or a beloved alt, your given zone. Record your thoughts in a visual, verbal, aural, or any other way while referencing your given obstacle (and any successes or failures with which you meet).
THE LOGISTICS: Email me at disciplinaryaction@yahoo.com or post a comment here to get your Zone & Tribulation. Post your results on your blog!
Aaaaand… go!

Lured by the idea of tribulations and danger whilst exploring, I’d love one please.
Sure, I’m game! Any zone would work well for me except the Alliance ones.
Done and done! And I’ve only just thought of this, but perhaps you’ll force your readers to figure out what the Adversity was…
Some of them are quite bizarre!
All right, for the logistics: I numbered all the areas and numbered all the adversities, then pulled two numbers out of a hat (okay, it’s a coffee mug) for each person- one for the area, one for the adversity. That’s as fair as I could get!
Oh oh me me me
But please, nothing that will get me flagged *puppy dog eyes* as no-one fails quite as badly as PvP as I do…
You’re at the mercy of the Coffee Cup, sistah!! And thy Coffee Cup has been merciful- check the old email.
Ooohhh… shiny! Me want! I’m a really, really, newbie blogger, though. I hope that isn’t a hindrance.
Not in the least- check your email!
I’d like to join! Sounds like fun – and because I am a dwarf, not a Naga and never properly expored Azshara, I’d like to pick that one. If it’s still available, that is.
Sadly Azshara had already been given away, but I actually am quite envious of the zone you got! Check your email.
Took me much longer than I expected, but it’s up now: http://ramblingdwarf.blogspot.com/2010/05/twilight-hammer-really-is-in-for-it-now.html
And I had no idea how much there was still left to explore in there.
Pant, pant, pant – mine is up, and can be found here: http://moar-alts.blogspot.com/2010/05/eleventh-hour-challenge-azshara.html
